Prospect Park, nestled between Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Lefferts Garden, Windsor Terrace and Flatbush in Brooklyn, is a 585-acre urban oasis near the Brooklyn Museum and Botanical Garden. As Brooklyn’s second largest park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (also known for Central Park), it offers a scenic retreat for exercise, birdwatching, picnics or relaxation. Opened in the 1890s, the park experienced a decline but was revitalized in the early 20th century. The Prospect Park Alliance played a crucial role in refurbishing it, enhancing its beauty and utility for today’s visitors.
